Siteimprove
Updated 2026-08-17Enterprise web-governance platform retrofitting into AEO. Accessibility, content quality, and AI-search visibility for customers including Barclays, Shell, and Danske Bank. $55M raised from Summit Partners, majority-owned by Nordic Capital. Recent ships: Advanced AEO Insights, content and PDF agents, and an MCP server.
Three scores, refreshed weekly from live market signals rather than a once-a-year analyst report. Presence is how established a vendor is in the market right now. Velocity is how fast they are shipping, raising, and winning customers. Agent Readiness is how easily your own agents can build on them through an API, MCP server, SDK, or CLI. Scores are relative across the vendors we track; the raw inputs ship in the downloadable dataset.
The Solution & Approach
Siteimprove is a 20-year-old web-governance vendor adding answer-engine visibility on top of an existing accessibility and SEO base. The core product is accessibility, SEO quality, content compliance, and analytics for enterprise web teams. The AEO capability arrived through three moves: the MarketMuse content-intelligence acquisition in October 2024, a CEO change to Nayaki Nayyar in March 2025, and the August 2025 launch of Siteimprove.ai, an agentic content-intelligence platform built on Amazon Bedrock and Nova whose Search agents target "search engines, LLMs, and AI discovery platforms."
The AEO product got a name on April 20, 2026 at Adobe Summit: Advanced AEO Insights, tracking AI citations, share of answers, brand sentiment, competitive positioning, and revenue attribution across answer engines. In June 2026 the retrofit crossed from measurement into production with a Content Writing & Optimization Agent that generates publication-ready content with AEO insights built in, plus a PDF Remediation Agent for accessibility fixes at scale.
The pattern worth watching is the direction of travel. Siteimprove keeps moving its checks earlier. The Accessibility Code Checker (February 2025) pushed testing into CI/CD, the Optimizely agent-to-agent integration (September 2025) pushed remediation into the CMS, and the June 2026 MCP Server put the Accessibility Agent inside Claude, Lovable, VS Code, and Figma. Nayyar's framing: "The starting point for content creation has shifted." This is a governance incumbent arguing that compliance and AEO belong in the tools generating the content, not in an audit after publication.
Best for
Large enterprise web teams with accessibility and compliance obligations, especially European Accessibility Act exposure, that want AI-search visibility measured on the same platform as governance rather than in a separate AEO point tool.

Agent Experience
How you build on this platform (or wire it into your own agents):
| Surface | Available | Docs |
|---|---|---|
| API | Yes | docs |
| MCP | No | — |
| SDK | No | — |
| CLI | No | — |
| llms.txt | No | — |
Stronger than most governance incumbents: an MCP server ships the Accessibility Agent into Claude, Lovable, VS Code, and Figma, the Accessibility Code Checker runs in CI/CD alongside Cypress, Playwright, Puppeteer, and Selenium, and agent-to-agent connectivity extends across 40-plus partner integrations.
