Scrunch AI

Updated 2026-08-16

AEO/GEO platform whose Agent Experience Platform serves machine-readable content to AI crawlers instead of only measuring citations. Customers include Akamai, Lenovo, and ADP. Raised $19M before Sitecore acquired it in June 2026 for a reported $225M. Recent releases: Keyword Volume Estimator, Signals, and Scrunch MCP.

Presence Score66Acquired by Sitecore (Jun 2026); G2 High Performer; serve-to-crawlers play
Velocity Score40Cadence cooled into the acquisition; standalone roadmap now folding into Sitecore
Agent Readiness ScoreMediumAPI available; agent surface limited

Three scores, refreshed weekly from live market signals rather than a once-a-year analyst report. Presence is how established a vendor is in the market right now. Velocity is how fast they are shipping, raising, and winning customers. Agent Readiness is how easily your own agents can build on them through an API, MCP server, SDK, or CLI. Scores are relative across the vendors we track; the raw inputs ship in the downloadable dataset.

The Solution & Approach

Scrunch AI is an AEO/GEO platform that took a serve-side position while most of the category stayed on measurement. Its Agent Experience Platform sits at the CDN layer, detects AI crawler traffic from ChatGPT, Perplexity and others, and routes it to a compressed, structured version of the site. Scrunch reports that cuts a typical pricing page from roughly 124K tokens to about 1.3K. It integrates with Akamai, Cloudflare, and Vercel.

The product line relaunched under the AXP banner in July 2026 around three pieces: Signals for automated detection of how AI agents represent the brand in answers, Site Diagnostics for page-by-page recommendations with no CDN integration required, and Optimizer for agent-ready content tied into Knowledge Studio. Scrunch MCP, launched May 2026, exposes the same data to Claude, ChatGPT, and Copilot and adds write actions, so an agent can track a new prompt, add a competitor, or trigger a site audit without opening the app.

The category POV is that measurement is the floor, not the product. CEO Chris Andrew: "For humans, websites are now the last mile. For AI, the website is the starting point," and "The future isn't visibility. It's action." Sitecore bought that thesis in June 2026 for a reported $225M, the first major exit in the AEO specialist cohort and the second DXP-adjacent AEO acquisition in three months after Adobe closed Semrush.

Best for

Brands and agencies that want to change what AI agents actually read, not just track citations, and that can integrate at the CDN layer with Akamai, Cloudflare, or Vercel.

Pricing & trial

Core is published at $250/month (125 prompts, 5 seats, 4 LLMs) and Enterprise is sales-led with API and MCP access, SSO, and 9 LLMs, with a 7-day free trial. Pricing.

Agent Experience

How you build on this platform (or wire it into your own agents):

Surface Available Docs
API Yes docs
MCP Yes docs
SDK No
CLI No
llms.txt Yes docs

Strong for building on: a public API reference, an llms.txt, and an MCP server that supports write actions from Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot, though API and MCP access sit behind the Enterprise tier.
