Scrunch AI

Updated 2026-07-16

An AEO/GEO platform that serves machine-readable content to AI crawlers rather than only measuring citations. Customers include Akamai, Lenovo, and ADP. Raised roughly $19M before Sitecore acquired it in June 2026 (about $225M per Bloomberg). Recent work: Scrunch MCP, Agent Traffic Monitoring GA, and a G2 AEO High Performer placement.

Presence Score66Acquired by Sitecore (Jun 2026); G2 High Performer; serve-to-crawlers play
Velocity Score40Cadence cooled into the acquisition; standalone roadmap now folding into Sitecore
Agent Readiness ScoreMediumAPI available; agent surface limited

Three scores, refreshed weekly from live market signals rather than a once-a-year analyst report. Presence is how established a vendor is in the market right now. Velocity is how fast they are shipping, raising, and winning customers. Agent Readiness is how easily your own agents can build on them through an API, MCP server, SDK, or CLI. Scores are relative across the vendors we track; the raw inputs ship in the downloadable dataset.

The Solution & Approach

Scrunch AI is an AEO/GEO platform for brand visibility in generative AI environments. Founded in 2023 by two Hearsay Systems alumni, it launched publicly in late 2024 and raised about $19M before Sitecore acquired it in June 2026.

Its differentiator is the Agent Experience Platform, CDN-layer infrastructure that detects AI crawler traffic and routes it to a compressed, structured version of the site. Scrunch reports cutting a typical pricing page from roughly 124K tokens to about 1.3K. That is a serve-side bet, distinct from measurement-only tools that report citations but do not act on them.

The company's POV, in CEO Chris Andrew's framing: "For humans, websites are now the last mile. For AI, the website is the starting point," and "The future isn't visibility. It's action." The May 2026 Scrunch MCP release, which adds write actions like creating brands and triggering audits from inside Claude or ChatGPT, is that action thesis made concrete.

Enterprise brands that want to serve machine-readable content to AI crawlers and act on AI-search insights, not just measure citations.
