Three scores, refreshed weekly from live market signals rather than a once-a-year analyst report. Presence is how established a vendor is in the market right now. Velocity is how fast they are shipping, raising, and winning customers. Agent Readiness is how easily your own agents can build on them through an API, MCP server, SDK, or CLI. Scores are relative across the vendors we track; the raw inputs ship in the downloadable dataset.
The Solution & Approach
BrightEdge is a 19-year-old enterprise SEO platform that has been layering an AEO/GEO product on top of its installed base since late 2023. The arc is visible in the release order: a Generative Parser inside BrightEdge Labs in December 2023, first-ever Perplexity research in April 2024, Data Cube X AI capabilities for Google AI Overviews in November 2024, the consolidated AI Catalyst product line in April 2025, and AI Hyper Cube in March 2026, which tracks brand presence across ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity. The research arm ran ahead of the commercial products by roughly two years.
The angle is revenue attribution, not visibility tracking. The AI Early Detection System, announced at Spark 25 in September 2025, attributes traffic, leads, and revenue to AI search in real time. That is the enterprise-buyer framing, and it is the clearest separation from the AEO-native tools that lead with prompt-level visibility. AI Agent Insights, shipped alongside AI Hyper Cube in March 2026, extends the same instinct to agent traffic: which AI agents access a site and what content they engage.
The category POV protects the base. In September 2025 BrightEdge published research arguing AI surfaces accounted for under 1% of search, with organic still the cornerstone of referral traffic. In October 2025 it reported Google's first market-share rebound in nine months. In December it argued Google still wins the holiday shopping journey. In January 2026 it published "AI Darwinism," with Jim Yu calling the end of the AI search gold rush. The newer thread runs the other way: an April 2026 tipping-point paper projecting that most online customers will be AI agents by end of 2026, and June 2026 data putting OpenAI at 96% of live AI user-agent activity. Two theses, one buyer, and both sold on the same platform.
Best for
Large enterprise search teams already running organic at scale who want AI-answer measurement and revenue attribution layered onto their existing SEO data rather than a standalone AEO tool.

Agent Experience
How you build on this platform (or wire it into your own agents):
| Surface | Available | Docs |
|---|---|---|
| API | No | — |
| MCP | No | — |
| SDK | No | — |
| CLI | No | — |
| llms.txt | Yes | docs |
The public sources document no API, MCP, SDK, or CLI surface, and BrightEdge's agent work points inward at measuring agent traffic through AI Agent Insights and AI Market Pulse rather than outward at letting you build on the platform.
